About the Blue Orange Super Genius First Words

Your pre-reader may not know how to spell “cat,” or “hat,” or “mat,” or “dog,” or “bug,” or “rug,” but she definitely knows what they look like. And she knows her letters, and what they look like, too. Take those two pieces of knowledge, mix them with a play pattern you’ll recognize from the ultra-popular Spot It games, and you’ve got a great educational game!

The card game of Super Genius First Words, from Blue Orange, challenges kids to three kinds of matching: matching pictures to words, pictures to pictures, and words to words. As with Spot It, each pair of Super Genius cards has one and only one match, and the trick is to spot that match first! This beginner version of the game includes only closed syllable three-letter words – the earliest words that kids begin to read.

Playing Super Genius First Words helps kids build their reading and spelling skills, as well as processing speed, visual perception, and focus and attention. The game comes in an easily portable magnetic box, with 62 cards and illustrated rules. Suggested for 1-6 players, ages 5 and up.

Good questions, nice binding, high quality

hard to bookmark where you left off

The cards are really nice and test the kids knowledge across multiple areas. Fun for the whole family and nice way to trigger more reading in areas of deficit.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
