Put on that poker face, bring your number sense, and pray for some luck. Rat-a-Tat Cat is a bestselling card game from Gamewright and the winner of a whole slew of prestigious awards. And it is straightforward yet challenging, making it a great game for the whole family to enjoy.
To play the game, players are dealt four cards. Each person will take a quick peek at them, and then keep all the cards face-down. In turn, each player then pulls a card from the draw pile to replace one of the four. The goal is to end up with the lowest score, but it isn’t quite so easy. The 54 cards have pictures on them, both of cats (the good guys, low points) and rascally rats (the bad guys, high points).
Besides entertaining kids, Rat-a-Tat Cat will have them learning important mathematical skills like number sense and the concept of probability. What’s more, the game teaches a sense of timing, patience, and memory. We are big fans of this portable, addictive card game and know you will be too.
