About the Melissa & Doug High Sea Symphony

You can explore any musical landscape that you like with the High Sea Symphony music set from Melissa & Doug, but we have a few suggestions – how about sailing the "Sea of Love" in a "Yellow Submarine," or having tea in the "Octopus's Garden" with a "Rock Lobster"?

The High Sea Symphony set is a wonderful and whimsical introduction to music making for toddlers: four wooden percussion instruments in the shape of sea creatures. These charming toddler toys from Melissa & Doug include:

- A seahorse shaker

- Clam castanets

- An octopus tambourine

- A crab rattle

Each critter has a friendly smile, and each critter makes its own music, without batteries or electronics. The only thing cuter than these instruments will be your child playing with them – and while she's having some musical fun, she'll be developing her fine motor skills and sense of rhythm. Put "Under the Sea" on the stereo and get the party started! Recommended for ages 18 months and up.

well made safe for baby instruments

These instruments are fun looking and well made. My 2 year old throws them around and they seem to hold up really well. I like that the noises are audible enough for him to enjoy but not loud enough to annoy me. The metal peices are enclosed so he can't bite on them or get his fingers stuck. The seahorse would also make a great baby rattle, the octopus tambourine has a big nubby handle for little hands and the crab has a nice little carry handle.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
