Q: What’s the difference between the Nuna Pipa Lite and the Nuna Pipa Lite LX?
A: The LX features updated fabrics and a DreamDrape
The Nuna Pipa Lite LX Infant Car Seat 2018 / 2019 holds babies rear-facing from 4-32lbs in weight and up to 32in in height.
I bought this Oct 2018, and my baby was born in Nov 2018. I thought this was pricey it would last for another future baby, however just shy of 4 months using this, the stitching is comming apart.
Looks nice, fabric feels great, very adaptable
Too large for my SUV
I REALLY love this car seat, but I almost cried when we installed it in my car and realized I can’t use my passenger seat anymore. The passenger seat has to be really far forward and at 90° in order to fit the car seat properly. I drive an Audi Q5 (SUV) and can’t believe it doesn’t fit. I rarely have a passenger though and in the event my husband is driving I prefer to sit in the back with the baby anyway. It’s just because of the angle of the car seat brackets that forces the base a little further up on the seat which then forces the car seat forward that much further. I could install it in the center, but I don’t have car seat brackets in the center and the floor is too high to use the stability leg, so I would be sacrificing all the safety features which was the whole point of this seat in the first place. From a little internet research it sounds like this would be an issue with almost any infant car seat anyway. It does seem to run hot with the infant insert. I keep a stroller fan on my baby almost all the time to keep her cool. The way the straps function is crazy easy. You click it all in place and then pull the belt at the bottom with one hand and BOOM perfect fit. It is also incredibly easy to install the base. You may be tempted to buy an extra seat base to keep in additional vehicles, but it’s so easy to install that would be a waste of $130 so save yourself the money! Also the dream drape feature on this seat is great! I use it almost every day when I walk my dogs. We turn a corner in the stroller and suddenly she has sun right in her eyes, but I can just flop down the dream drape really quick until we change directions again and then I can just flip it back up. I’ve had a TON of compliments on this stroller system too. It just looks so nice! The navy blue color is gorgeous too. It’s a great gender neutral option. Looks great on the Mixx stroller. I love that it isn’t too bold. Can a car seat be sexy? Cause this is. I wish they made them in adult size because the material feels so nice. And it’s very washable and very adjustable as your baby grows. The infant insert has a removable cushion and both pieces of the insert are removable separately. My baby is currently 12 pounds and we are using just the head support piece of the insert. And I was really impressed to have received a second infant insert. I keep it in my car just in case we have a blow out on the road. So smart! And I really feel like a good parent putting her in such a solid well made seat. It really gives you peace of mind.
Light; beautiful, soft fabric; safe
Can't use without base
Magic Beans gave fantastic guidance in helping to choose the right carseat for our family! We were very pleased with the customer service. The carseat arrived within 3 days of ordering.
We haven't used the carseat yet, but I've spent a lot of time looking
at different options. We were debating between the Nuna Pipa Lite LX and the Mesa (since we're buying a Vista). While we are aware that carseat safety is dependent on proper installation, we chose the Nuna Pipa Lite LX because of the extra safety afforded by the load leg on the base. Also the fabric was much softer than the Henry Mesa. We currently travel a lot. I'm sure this will change with our first baby, but the only downside I see is that we would have to take the base with us. We will be buying the ring adapter to use with our Vista, so compatibility was not a a huge factor in the end. Hopefully the baby loves the carseat as much as we do!
