Bugaboo Lynx vs Cybex Priam | Stroller Comparison

The brand new Bugaboo Lynx and the fashion-forward Cybex Priam may not, at first glance, seem like they have much in common. The Priam, with its rose gold frame and stylishly structured canopy, stands out like a peacock next to the more sedate, no-nonsense sleekness of the Lynx. This difference in aesthetics might have you wondering, “So wait, which stroller is better? The fancy one or the modern one?” The question you should be asking, though, is which stroller is best for your family? Let us help you puzzle it out!

LYNX VS. PRIAM: NEWBORN COMPATIBILITY

The Bugaboo Lynx

The biggest difference between the Bugaboo Lynx and the Cybex Priam does not, contrary to first impressions, have anything to do with the Priam’s aforementioned rose gold frame. Instead, the key disparity between the Lynx and the Priam is each stroller’s abilities to accommodate a newborn baby. The Priam, equipped with newborn-safe full-recline capabilities, allows families to stroll with their newborns from day one.

The Bugaboo Lynx, on the other hand, is not outfitted with seating accommodations for newborns. Instead, we suggest that anyone interested in strolling with the Bugaboo Lynx right away use the Lynx in conjunction with the Bugaboo Turtle car seat, which has built-in adapters that fit the Lynx perfectly and allow for easy car seat attachment and release. Already have a car seat? No problem! You can buy the Lynx’s Bassinet Fabric Set, which has everything you need to install a cozy (though not sleep-safe, so no overnight sleeping!) bassinet for your kiddo.

LYNX VS. PRIAM: FEATURES

The Cybex Priam

Of course, features outside of seating are just as important when it comes to being satisfied with a stroller. Both the Lynx and the Priam have extendable canopies, underseat baskets, and easy-fold capabilities, though only the Lynx can stand alone when folded. Both strollers are built for city living, and are light enough to carry up stairs (the Lynx weights twenty-four pounds, the Priam weighs twenty-seven pounds) and small enough to maneuver through busy crowds. Their price points are also fairly well matched, though the Lynx is a bit more affordable at $899 than the Priam is at $999.

Overall, the question of which stroller you should buy really comes down to what your family needs in a stroller. If you need a lightweight, straightforward, and high-quality stroller, you can’t go wrong with the Bugaboo Lynx. If you want a stroller with a little more flair as well as newborn functionality, the Cybex Priam might be the stroller for you.
