Bugaboo Lynx vs Fox | Stroller Comparison | ( ratings | reviews | prices )

Comparing the Bugaboo Lynx to the Bugaboo Fox is a bit like comparing an Oreo Thin to an original Oreo; there are some serious advantages to buying a Lynx instead of a Fox, but the Lynx is missing some very fun features that the Fox comes with automatically. Intrigued? Read on for all of the nitty-gritty details, brought to you by all of us stroller-obsessed folks here at Magic Beans.

LYNX VS. FOX: FEATURES

The Bugaboo Lynx

As the Oreo comparison above implies, the brand new Bugaboo Lynx is basically a lightweight version of the Bugaboo Fox. While the two strollers have very similar designs (they both feature an extendable canopy, a no-rethread harness, and comparable frame construction), the Lynx has fewer add-on features than the Fox does.

The biggest of these nixed features is the sleep-safe bassinet; while the Fox comes with a sleep-safe bassinet, making overnight travel a breeze, the Lynx does not come with a bassinet and does not have a sleep-safe stroller seat. Instead, we recommend that Lynx owners who want their baby to have a snug place to snooze while on-the-go purchase a Bugaboo Turtle, which has integrated adapters for the Lynx. In addition to the lack of bassinet, the Lynx does not have some other Fox features, including one-handed recline capabilities, rear-wheel suspension, and a flip-flop friendly foot break.

LYNX VS. FOX: PRICING

The Bugaboo Fox

All this being said, it’s important to know why the Lynx lacks some of the design elements that the Fox comes with. By skimping on extra features, the Lynx perfects its weight and price tag. The Lynx is the lightest full-size stroller that Bugaboo offers, weighing in at just twenty-four pounds, and is priced at $899, a huge savings when compared to the $1,236 price tag on the Fox. Buying the Lynx over the Fox will save you both money and muscle cramps, a great deal if I’ve ever seen one.
