Bugaboo Lynx vs UPPAbaby Cruz | Stroller Comparison

Come one, come all to the face off of the season! In one corner we have the brand new Bugaboo Lynx, Bugaboo’s newest (and lightest!) full-size stroller, pricing in at $899, and in the other we have the UPPAbaby Cruz, a fan favorite stroller that’s been dominating the market for years, pricing in at $549. Which one will win a place in your home (and heart)?

All kidding aside, though, we’re so excited to take a closer look at the Bugaboo Lynx and the UPPAbaby Cruz. They’re both great strollers, and could be an amazing fit for your family. Let’s dive into the details!

LYNX VS. CRUZ: SIMILARITIES

The Bugaboo Lynx

At first glance, the Bugaboo Lynx and the UPPAbaby Cruz are very, VERY similar strollers. Both are lightweight, single-seater strollers. Both weigh just over twenty pounds (the Lynx weighs twenty-four pounds, the Cruz weighs twenty-one pounds), and have reversible seating options for your child. Neither of these strollers comes with a bassinet–families wanting to use the Lynx or the Cruz right away with their newborn will have to purchase a bassinet, car seat (the Bugaboo Turtle’s adapters fit the Lynx!) and/or other accessory (like the UPPAbaby SnugSeat or the Lynx’s Bassinet Fabric Set) to accommodate their new arrival. Both strollers can stand alone while folded, and both are, in the opinion of this Magic Beans blogger, pretty awesome strollers.

LYNX VS. CRUZ: DIFFERENCES

The UPPAbaby Cruz

So, what’s the catch? If they’re both so similar, how can anyone decide which one to buy?

While the Lynx and the Cruz are pretty darn similar, there are a few key differences between these two strollers. The first big difference is how the Lynx and the Cruz fold down: the Lynx can fold down no matter what position its seat is in, while the Cruz’s seat must be in the forward-facing position in order to fold. Another difference can be found in the wheels of the strollers, as the Lynx’s back wheels are larger (eleven and a half inches) than the Cruz’s (eight inches), making for a more stable and smooth ride. Of course, these advantages that the Lynx has over the Cruz may be totally redeemed by the Cruz’s lower price point, so each stroller must be considered as a whole.
