November 8-14

November through April
Belmont Kidspace Opens

Need an indoor space when the weather is bad and the four walls of your house are closing in? Just in time for winter, the Belmont Kidspace opens for the season. There’s a large play area, trains, trucks, dolls, a play kitchen, dress up area, plus a gym with riding toys and climbing structures. Visit for an open house on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Payson Park Church, 365 Belmont Street in Belmont (617-484-8697). Visit the website for the full schedule.

Saturday, November 13 through January 1

Enchanted Village Opens

The 1958 holiday display with animated figures and tableaus lives on at Jordan’s. The charming classic winter scenes, dear to many Bostonians, delight everyone and, as a bonus, Santa will be on hand for photos and requests.

Little Red Riding Hood
Opera Boston singers perform this classic tale where Little Red and her Grandmother join forces to outwit the big, bad Wolf. This version brings the story to life in a new way and may get your kids into opera.

Newton Cultural Center, 225 Nevada Street; Newton (617 796-1540). At 2 p.m. Visit the website for the full schedule.

Learning with Lulu
This children’s program, “Learning with Lulu,” occurs the second Sunday of the month. The museum’s mascot, Lulu the Lamb, and her friends read stories and make easy crafts that introduce kids to literature, culture, geography and history.
