Kind + Jugend Day One

We arrived in Cologne this morning after an exhausting red-eye flight from Newark, NJ. We checked into our hotel and then high-tailed it to the show, where we were dazzled by the structural complexity of each booth, the array of products on display, and the alchohol that was being dispersed to those in attendence. Let’s just say it was a happy crowd, getting happier with each passing hour.

On the flight, I had a chance to chat with Ari, the co-owner of Planet Kids in New York, and a man who works on the product development team at Chicco, and who, prior to his current post, helped develop the Graco Snugride. And that was just on the airplane. There are so many interesting people, and I took lots of pictures. I NEED some sleep, but I will post more tomorrow.

  1. hi. i just checked out your flickr photos from cologne. i was wondering — is that the quinny buzz with the new seats (IMG 1063). we have the 2005 and 2006 models of the buzz (from Canada). are there any significant changes to the model shown at kind+jugend. can that seat fabric be purchased to put on the current 2006 buzz frame? also, what is that stroller in IMG 1128? it looks amazing! thanks.

  2. Hi,
I went and did some research for you. At Quinny, it was extremely busy, and although I waited a while, I couldn’t get anyone fluent in English to answer your question about the fabric. The frame looks the same to my eye, but I think it would be a bigger challenge to actually find an extra fabric set. Dorel is an enormous company.

The stroller in IMG 1128 is the new Joolz stroller, made by the same people who are behind Firstwheels. I spent some more time with that stroller today, and it is interesting. I took some more pictures of it, and I will post about it later on today.
