No two days in the life of your baby are the same: every day she’s a little bigger, every day her senses are sharper, every day she refines a new physical skill just a little bit. Because she’s constantly changing and growing, most items you purchase for her are tailored for a particular stage; she grows out of her bassinet, her bouncy chair, her high chair, her stroller, and before you know it, you’ve got a kindergartener doing cartwheels in your kitchen.
Stokke of Norway have staked their reputation on anticipating the constant flux of babyhood and childhood and creating items with an unbelievably long shelf life, and the jewel in their crown is the classic Tripp Trapp. Since 1972, the Tripp Trapp Chair has been growing and adapting with children, starting from their first solid meals all the way up through adulthood.
Your Tripp Trapp high chair begins its life as a sturdy, stable, and stylish natural beech wood chair with a removable five-point harness that keeps baby snugly in place as she tries out her first bananas and peas, pears and yams, purees and finger food. The lack of a tray is intentional: the designers at Stokke believe that serving baby every meal right at the table with the rest of the family is essential to family bonding and a sense of togetherness. (A tray can be purchased separately if you want to feed her in the kitchen in a pinch.) As baby grows taller and wider, the height and depth adjustable seat can be broadened for her, and the footrest can be moved down so her little legs are neither cramped nor dangling - a great recipe for keeping restless little kiddos at the table and happily interacting with the family for longer. As your child grows, so does the Tripp Trapp - until you’ve got a chair that fits a full-sized adult squirm-free, all the way up to 250 pounds!
While many other companies have copied the Tripp Trapp formula, no other transforming high chair is crafted with such thorough attention to detail: each chair features a totally child-safe all-natural finish that won’t expose your child to any chemicals. Stokke Extended Gliders keep the chair stable, and the design of the Tripp Trapp Chair naturally resists tipping for a safe sit (and so that older kids can climb in safely on their own).
You can begin using the Stokke Tripp Trapp when your child is 6-8 months old and able to sit unassisted, with the Baby Set; use the included 5-point safety harness until about 3 years of age.
Optional Accessories:
Baby Set™ - Allows babies ages 6 months and up to safely use the Tripp Trapp®
Cushion Set - Soft, plush padding adds additional comfort, is machine washable
Stokke Table Top - Provides table tray for meals and playtime

I've been through quite a few highchairs in 6 years of parenting 3 different children, this is by far the best out there and worth every single penny
Durable, great colors, stylish,
don't have any!
We just purchased our second Tripp Trapp, a different color (orange) for our 6 month old daughter. My son, who is now 4 still wanted his (green)! They aren't cheap, but since they grow with the child, it's completely worth it. It allows the child to participate at the table, be part of the family right from the beginning, models meal time behavior, especially since we are doing baby led weaning.
Straps are too big for my little one at the moment, pricey
We are so loving this chair! It is sturdy, well made, and super easy to clean. I don't think it would work well as a first chair for little ones on it's own. We purchased this chair knowing we were also getting the infant set that goes with it. So glad we did, especially since the harness is way to big to hold my child at the moment, which would have made the chair totally unusable at this point.
It is very pricey itself and then you have to pay for all of the extras like the infant set and tray. That being said, we are planning on using it for many years since it can grow with our little one (unlike the highchair our older child used that just hung around until around age 2).
Easy to Clean, Daughter sits at table with us, Comfortable and easy straps, visually appealing, no need for booster seat, will use for years to come
Do not have 1 complaint about this product
My husband and I are so impressed with this chair. Our daughter is 14 months and we never had a "regular" high chair for her as we always thought they were too bulky and looked like a nightmare to clean. She recently outgrew her Bumbo which is where we were feeding her. Her physical therapist recommended this chair as it is good for children with lower muscle tone which is our daughter. From the moment we put her in the chair, we knew it was perfect! She loves the chair too! She looks so comfortable in it! It is easy to get her in and out of and no tray to fight with. Will definetely buy another one when the next one comes along!
Comfortable, durable
None
Grappled with buying a bulky, cheaper plastic one but I couldn't stand to have ANOTHER piece of plastic baby furniture around the house. Thie high chair is so worth the little extra money.
sturdy, durable
good investment, as this seat can be used for a long time. Very happy with the purchase and magicbean has the best price.
Easy To Assemble, Stylish, Stable
My preschooler loves this, so I got one for my baby (starting at 6 months), too! They both sit at the table like part of the family, instead of in high chairs away from the table. And the cherry matches our other chairs. Only con: kids get the table messy, as opposed to traditional high chairs which contain the mess :)
Easy to Clean, Stable, Every one can sit on it, Easily Stowed
We have given this chair as a baby present to our close friends. Their reactions have been amazing. " It's something we can keep forever!"
I love the washable fabric seat cushions!!!! Free delivery makes it even easier to give to people.
Easy to Clean, Stable, Stylish, Easy To Assemble
We got this high chair for our 7 month old and we love it. I opted not to get the baby set (she's not a huge baby but she got stuck in the leg openings when I tried her in the baby set in the store!). I just make sure the harness is snug and she's bellied-up to the table and she's perfectly safe. (Your baby needs to be able to sit up reliably if you forego the baby set, I think.) We also skipped the tray so she can join us at the table. She loves being at the table w/ us, she'll be able to have this chair for years, and it blends in w/ our dining room chairs very well. Love this chair, worth the extra cost for the longevity it will provide and the matching potential.
Stylish, Stable, Easy To Assemble, Easy to Clean
The Stokke Tripp Trapp is great. It is functional and a great size for our small city home. However, we have the Baby Set and it is difficult to get our daughter in and out of the seat with this attachment on the chair.
Lightweight, Easy to Clean, Easy To Assemble, Easily Stowed
So easy to clean. I used it as a chair for my oldest and now back as a high chair for my baby. I loved it so much I bought it as a baby shower gift.
This is great for all ages. I only wish it was less expensive but it really has lasted.
Lightweight, Stable, Easy to Clean, Stylish, Easy To Assemble
Expensive
We have one of the Tripp Trapp chairs for our 3 year old daughter. We got it as a gift right before she was born. It has been wonderful to have her at the table with us instead of 4 feet away eating off a tray. She loves to get in and out on her own and feels like a big kid and part of the family. We just ordered two more for our twins due in Mar/Apr 2011. Hands down the best chair for babies through adults, as it adjusts with the growth of the child. Looks wonderful with our furniture and easy to clean. Wish they were a little less expensive, but you do pay for what you get, making this a very wise investment. If you want to foster a family dining experience get this chair and even the littlest children can feel like a part of the family.
Easy to Clean, Lightweight, Easy To Assemble
Not stable
Great:
the look,
children like it,
But...:
Not steady. As soon as the baby is gaining strength and weight he can easily push the chair and they will both fall.
Easy To Assemble, Stylish, Easy to Clean, Lightweight
I love this chair. I compared it to my friends similar chair but there was no comparison! Its good looking in my dining room, easy to clean, and my daughter loves sitting in it. Its not a baby chair but more of a big kid chair. Pricy but worth it!
Can use for many years, Stylish, Stable, Easy to Clean, Easy To Assemble
I own three of these - one for each of my kids. I love how I will be able to use them for YEARS to come and since I've actually sat in them myself, have found them to be quite comfortable. They match my dining room furniture and have a much smaller footprint that bulky plastic high chairs. The best feature is that they are super easy to clean. Truly, these are an excellent investment!
Stable, Stylish
I love the Tripp Trapp! My 11-month-old uses it with the baby set and table top in lieu of a "regular" high chair. It's very stable in the face of his constant bouncing, and I love that he can eat with us at the table. Plus, the Tripp Trapp looks great in the dining room and has a smaller footprint than a high chair with a tray.
Easily Stowed, Stylish, Easy to Clean, Easy To Assemble, Stable, Lightweight
This chair works great for babies (who sit up) and toddlers. Its easy to switch from infant to toddler!! Best highchair out there
Lightweight, Stylish, Easy To Assemble, Stable, Easy to Clean
Great chair! Forget plastic high chairs with trays - let your child eat at the table with you. All 3 of our children have a Tripp Trapp (ages 8 - 7 - 1) and use them daily. Highly Recommend!
Pulls up to family table, Grows with child, Lightweight, Easy To Assemble, Stable, Stylish
My brother and I had Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs when we were growing up, and we used them from toddler-hood to junior high, so I loved the idea of getting one for my daughter. Its a great chair--sturdy, stylish, and will last a long time. My only complaint is that the Stokke Table Top is so over-the-top expensive, and they're aren't any good alternatives to it, so sometimes i envy people with high chairs with trays because it is hard to have a baby and young toddler at the table and prevent them from damaging the table without a solid tray.
Nat, Assistant Manager at Magic Beans Boston, shows you the Stokke Tripp Trapp 2017 High Chair! The Tripp Trapp was carefully and thoughtfully designed by Stokke to enhance comfort for seated babies. The Tripp Trapp does not come with a tray (though it's optional) to promote bringing baby to the table and participating with family.
