About the UppaBaby G-Luxe Stroller 2018

Sure you want a small and space-saving stroller for your travels, but the last thing you want is to miss out on your favorite features. Meet the new and improved UPPAbaby G-Luxe Stroller 2018! This umbrella stroller from UPPAbaby features the convenience you need with the style and features you want.

The most noticable update to the 2018 G-Luxe is its redesigned frame. It's sturdier, more robust, and closely resembles to that of the Vista and Cruz. Don't worry: it didn't pack on any pounds! The UPPAbaby G-Luxe keeps its slim, 15-pound figure.

Other new G-Luxe features for 2018 include:

  • A larger, multi-paneled sun canopy with an extendable pop-out UPF 50+ sunshade
  • An easy-access basket with a weight limit of now 10 pounds!

Weighing only 15 pounds, the UPPAbaby G-Luxe Stroller has the light build of an umbrella stroller with the toughness you expect from larger strollers. It’s incredibly durable and can handle many years of heavy use. And it packs a ton of features into that skinny weight, with shock-absorbing 4-wheel suspension, high-performance wheels, and a generous recline so kids can nap on the go.

We also love the super-practical Stain Defend fabrics on the UPPAbaby G-Luxe 2018, and the standing fold also helps to keep the fabrics tidy. It also features tall ergonomic handles.

The UPPAbaby G-Luxe Stroller 2018 can hold children up to 55lbs.

Sturdy umbrella stroller

1 out of 1 person found this review helpful
Pros:

lightweight, sturdy, sleek design, canopy,

Cons:

scratches easily seen on black metal

Our first umbrella stroller was a Maclaren Quest, which served us well over the last 7 years but I wanted something with a better canopy and sturdier feel. The newly revised G-luxe does not disappoint. We have already been on several trips with this stroller and we now use it over our Vista as our daily stroller due to its ease of use and small foot-print. The canopy is great, the recline is easy to use (easier than our Maclaren). The fabric is sturdy and amazingly stain-resistant and super easy to wipe off clean. The lower basket holds a lot and easy to access. Cup holder is AMAZING!

Good Toddler Stroller

4 out of 4 people found this review helpful
Pros:

nice fabrics, handles well, storage options

Cons:

difficult to close,

We waited several months for this stroller to be released. Previously, we owned a UB Cruz but felt that it was too big for the needs of our toddler.

We chose the blue color and the fabric on both the seat as well as the shade feels very soft. We like that UB replaced the plastic feeling silver shade with the fabric silver shade.

On pavement and sidewalks, the ride is not as smooth as our Cruz was but is also superior to our friend's older G-Luxe and the Maclaren Mark II. It also isn't as loud as the other two strollers perhaps because of the front single wheel. Handling is okay. As long as there aren't any obstructions like small holes it is possible to handle with one practiced hand. Otherwise, you must use two hands to push. It is far easier to maneuver in aisles and in tight places. On linoleum, hardwood, and other indoor surfaces, however, the UB G-Luxe is quiet, handles beautifully, and provides a smooth ride.

The basket is small but compared to the previous G-Luxe it seems bigger and it is easy to reach things in the back. When our son was a baby, we wouldn't have been able to bring all the things we needed for him but as a toddler it is sufficient to throw in a snack, diaper change pad, and a couple of small toys. There is a pocket on the back that is good for a cell, wallet and keys but the pocket doesn't have a closure. In the future, it would be nice if this pocket had a magnetic closure.

The most frustrating aspect of this stroller is the closing of it. Opening is relatively easy and involves unlocking a clip and pushing down on a foot pedal. Closing is very difficult especially if you have smaller hands. You have to be able to push in a pin on the right side and pull up on the rings at the same time. The only way I am able to accomplish this is to push the pin with one hand, pull the right ring with the other hand and then pull the left ring separately. I hope as we use this stroller it will loosen more it and will not be as difficult to close.
