Living in luxury: Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller vs Cybex Priam Stroller 2018

You’re looking for a durable stroller with an effortless push, luxurious ride for baby, and head-turning style. Whether you’ve just started your research or you’re ready to snatch either of these beauties, you’ve come to the right place. Both the Bugaboo Cameleon 3 and the Cybex Priam Strollers epitomize style and quality in the baby world. Here’s what will make them perfect (or not-so perfect! that’s the beauty of research) for your family.

Both of these models are what we’d call full size strollers. They’ve got the works: reversible seat, one-handed recline, infant car seat compatible, adjustable handlebar, extendable canopy, and all-wheel suspension for some of the smoothest rides around. These are top-picks for city families or suburban families that are out and about often.

2018 updates

As of right now, January 2018, there are no expected updates to either the Bugaboo Cameleon 2018 or the Cybex Priam 2018. They’re the same fabulous strollers we raved about in 2017. But if we do get word of newer versions or updates, we’ll be sure to update you on both our blog and YouTube Channel.

Customizability

The Cybex Priam Stroller is prized for its customizability. You’ve got two options when it comes to the stroller seat as well as three options for wheels. Here are your two stroller seat options:

The 2 in 1 Light Seat starts as a Carry Cot and transforms into a stroller seat. If you don’t plan on owning an infant car seat, or you’re just partial to bassinets, the Light Seat could be a great option. Bassinets are great for walks with your teeny infant, as laying flat is recommended for longer naps and healthier muscle development. Once they’re sitting up, the Carry Cot will become a stroller seat. The Lux Seat starts (and stays) a stroller seat, but it offers a completely flat recline, making it safe for newborn without a bassinet. The adjustable foot rest ensures it will comfortably grow with your child.

When it comes to wheels on the Cybex Priam, you’ve got three options: City, Trekking, and All-Terrain. The City wheels work perfectly for smooth sidewalks or indoor strolling. The All-Terrain wheels are a match for families that take expeditions through trails, the beach, or possibly uneven city sidewalks. The Trekking wheels are right in the middle of the two. You’re also able to choose from either a black or aluminum frame.

The Bugaboo Cameleon certainly has its own customizable features. Firstly, you’re able to choose from either a black or aluminum frame. Another style choice, the canopy comes in a completely separate box, so you can swap out the color whenever you’re in need of an update. The seat on the Bugaboo Cameleon is a lot like the Light Seat on the Priam. When it comes to the seat, you’ll receive one seat frame, a stroller seat fabric set, and a bassinet fabric set. You’re able to just swap the bassinet fabric for the seat fabric once your baby has grown out of their bassinet. Parents with limited storage space really dig this system.

Though you’re not able to choose the Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller’s wheels, they have amazing adjustable suspension. One neat feature on the Cameleon is its reversible handlebar. When you’re pushing through snow or tough terrain, just reverse the handlebar to push the larger wheels in front of you. Cool, right?

One advantage the Cameleon’s bassinet has over the Priam’s is its overnight sleep certification. Just purchase a Bugaboo Bassinet Stand and it’s completely safe to use at home.

Infant car seat compatibility

Infant car seat compatibility is by far the most common stroller question. And rightfully so – you definitely don’t want to fall in love with a stroller and car seat only to find out they’re not a match. The Cybex Priam comes with adapters to attach either of their two car seats, the Aton Q or the Cloud Q. The Bugaboo Cameleon, on the other hand, has lots of different adapters to make it compatible with a wide variety of infant car seats, including those by Cybex, Nuna, Chicco, and more. Any adapters with Bugaboo will be sold separately.
