Meet the Bumbleride Indie 4!

It’s a familiar story: two young parents looking for a mobility solution for their family decided to create their own strollers, and thus Bumbleride was born. We’ve been Bumbleride retailers from the start, since we love their sense of design and functionality. In the early 2000s, three-wheeled strollers were the rage, so along with Mountain Buggy and Valco all-terrain strollers, the Bumbleride Rocket (a precursor to the three-wheeled Indie) was super popular. But since then we haven’t had a real hit with Bumbleride.

However, the new Bumbleride Indie 4 is poised to fill a gap. With the same tough all-terrain design and the same hip look as the original Indie, the Indie 4 is a fine addition to the four-wheel urban stroller field, which has been hot in the last few years. Parents love the look and function of the UPPAbaby Vista and Cruz, and the Bugaboo Cameleon and Buffalo, and the Indie is similar, but not quite the same – in a very good way.

The Cameleon and Vista are fabulous urban strollers with tons of cool functions, and they come with a bassinet, but they’re not all-terrain. The Cruz has that sleek 4-wheel look in a compact package, but the wheels aren’t heavy duty, so it’s not idea for intense city walking. And the Bugaboo Buffalo is a magnificent stroller for an outdoors lifestyle, but the price tag is hefty.

So the Bumbleride Indie 4 brings together a lot of elements people love about those popular strollers: it comes with a bassinet like the Vista and the Cameleon, it has a smaller, sleek look like the Cruz, and it has all-terrain wheels like the Buffalo, but it costs a very reasonable $599. The only drawback is that it doesn’t have a reversible seat, but you’d be using the bassinet during the stage when you’d usually want the seat reversed, so your baby would be facing you anyway. Plus, the Indie 4 comes with a universal car seat adapter that works with many popular infant car seats, so your baby can ride facing you in her car seat, too.
