Our inside scoop on the ABC Expo: What’s new from Nuna?

We’ve only known about Nuna for a year, since we first encountered them at the 2012 ABC Kids Expo, but we already have great expectations: this European company is so cool! The Leaf Baby Lounger, in particular, made a big splash at last year’s show – not only is it unusual and stylish in appearance, and not only does it have a completely unique side-to-side motion, but it’s the only baby bouncer that older kids can play on, extending its use well beyond infancy. (There’s also a giant Leaf that they bring out for trade shows!)

So we’re not surprised that the Nuna 2013 exhibit is equally impressive. We spent a lot of time with their two new strollers, which will give you more Nuna options alongside their already-impressive Pepp.

The Nuna Mixx Stroller is the next step up, and we mean that literally: the footrest is actually sturdy enough that an older child can step up into the seat. It’s the sturdiest footrest we’ve ever seen, with a nice big platform. No dangling legs here! The Mixx Stroller is no slouch with the little kids, either: there’s an optional bassinet, and the seat is reversible and reclines fully flat so even a newborn can ride in comfort. Weighing in at 24 pounds, the Mixx is a great option for parents who want a ton of features without a ton of weight, and will retail for about $599.

The Nuna Ivvi Luxx Stroller, as per its name, is Nuna’s first entry into the full-on luxury stroller category, comparable to the ultra-popular UPPAbaby Vista or Bugaboo Cameleon. Along with a one-handed recline, cozy fabrics, and a large, easy-to-access basket, the Ivvi Luxx Stroller has two features that are totally unique:

  • All-weather seating: The seat padding can be easily removed, and underneath it is a built-in mesh seat for extra ventilation! We love it.
  • Dream Drape: Like the Pipa Infant Car Seat, the Ivvi Luxx stroller boasts a unique cover to protect baby from inclement weather, and to shut out light during naptime.

The Nuna Ivvi Luxx Stroller will retail for around $900, and will make its debut in mid-spring.

In other Nuna news, there are some small changes in the rest of the Nuna collection: there’s a small change in the setup of the Sena Travel Crib (which you can see in action above), and some new colors for the Leaf. Isn’t that lavender gorgeous?
